Suchita Venugopal
Suchita, grew up in the beautiful town of Rourkela, Odisha. She along with her twin sister Ruchita started her dance journey at the age of 6. Guided by the same foundational teachings of Guru Rabindra Kumar Swain, Suchita’s dance journey emphasized the purity and timeless beauty of traditional choreography.
While the twins shared many stages and moments, Suchita’s heart always resonated deeply with the classical and folk traditions of dance. Suchita’s dance journey is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. She also loves choreographing by drawing inspiration from Indian folklore and classical tales. Her choreographies, while deeply rooted in tradition, often carry subtle modern undertones, showcasing her ability to bridge the old with the new.
After moving to the Canada in 2016, Suchita’s started her training under guidance of Guru Jyoti Rout. She is continually refining her techniques in the traditional form of Odissi while also learning nuances of choreography.
